Oliasoft develops cloud-native engineering software for designing, planning and constructing wells for oil and gas, carbon capture and storage (CCS) and geothermal energy.

Our first product, Oliasoft WellDesign, was launched in 2020. By automating time-consuming work processes and combining AI with advanced, physics-based simulations in areas such as thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, we make well planning more efficient and more accurate.

Our Product department is responsible for leading all product development in line with Oliasoft's overall product strategy. We provide technical expertise across the company and work tightly with the Customer Success, Marketing and Sales teams on the sale, marketing and implementation of Oliasoft products. We are now looking for a Product Owner for our Oslo team. The Product Owner combines drilling and well engineering expertise with a structured approach to software development, bringing domain knowledge into a cross-functional team of developers, engineers and domain experts. You will lead the development of new products and functionality as well as the continued improvement of existing WellDesign modules, from early planning through sprints, testing and release. The position reports to the Head of Product in Oslo and involves some travel to customer sites and workshops.

As a Product Owner at Oliasoft you will:

Lead development projects for new products and functionality, as well as further development of existing WellDesign modules

Plan and follow up sprints, working closely with our software developers on a day-to-day basis

Bring well engineering domain knowledge into a cross-functional project team, clarifying requirements and making trade-off decisions

Drive functional testing and quality assurance of new functionality before release

Carry out technical verification work, sometimes in collaboration with our customers

Collaborate with and provide technical support to our Customer Success, Marketing and Sales teams

Contribute to updating and maintaining our technical documentation

To succeed in this role you should have:

A Masters degree in a relevant engineering discipline (petroleum, drilling, mechanical or similar)

A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience

Very good knowledge of different types of well planning software

The ability to work with many different types of people across departments and professions

The ability to keep calm when working under pressure and deliver on promises

The ability to communicate fluently in both Norwegian and English, written and verbal

A valid work permit for Norway

Experience from Drilling and Well (well planning and/or follow-up of well operations), experience from agile software development or as a Product Owner, and knowledge of Oliasoft WellDesign and Forecast are advantages, but not requirements, for the position.
